While I’m finishing up another podcast episode, I wrote up a blog post on boardgamegeek.com about my Cognition of Game Playing class that happened in the middle of May. It went extremely well! Please read about it here!

Taught the family Rummikub tonight (well, my version is called The Original World Rummy). I played with this set around 1980 with my mom and dad and aunt and uncle. Good memories!

First game of Canvas by @R2iGames. Pretty game and a nice puzzle. Looks like a good game for my Cognition of Gaming class.

Awesome discussion of ⁦@OpenAI⁩ ChatGPTs use in RPGs by ⁦@thesecretcabal⁩ . Real people talking AI in this cool use case. Listen to the verbs they use, like “understand,” “create,” and “reason.” Sharing with my cog sci class https://thesecretcabal.com/episodes/lords-59

Years ago on GameTek I did a thought experiment about theming and player behavior - in terms of the moves they would make. @cognitive_gamer actually performed the experiment, and here's the formal paper: Adventuring v. Firefighting
